Refund policy
Request a refund, understand proportional credit adjustments and distinguish refunds from renewal cancellation.
Request a review
HowToImg is operated by Aethalis Inc. Send a refund request to support@howtoimg.com, including your purchase account email, order or payment reference, date and reason. Never send a password, API key or full card number. Requests are reviewed; a request is not automatic approval. This policy does not limit mandatory rights under applicable law or invent a universal seven-day refund entitlement.
An approved purchase reversal
Adjustments affect only the specific paid purchase. A full reversal removes that purchase's available unspent credits and unissued grants. Consumed or reserved amounts that cannot be recovered enter manual review; we do not automatically create a negative wallet or take credits from other purchases. Generated files are not deleted solely because of a refund.
A partial reversal reduces each original credit window proportionally to the cumulative successfully refunded purchase amount. For an original allowance C, paid amount P and cumulative reversal R, the target reduction is floor(C × R / P), rounded down in your favor. A 10% reversal reduces 600 credits to 540; an annual purchase with 600 per month becomes 540 per month. Original expiry dates remain. Partial refunds do not automatically cancel every future month. This formula adjusts approved entitlements; it does not decide refund eligibility.
Renewal and already-paid orders
Cancellation of renewal is separate from a refund: normally it stops the next charge while keeping the paid term, including annual monthly grants. A full reversal also stops that subscription's future renewal charges. Each already-paid order is handled separately: refunding an older invoice must not revoke a later paid period. Partial reversals do not automatically cancel renewal. Refunds use the actual discounted amount paid, not twelve undiscounted monthly prices.
Compensation, expiry and processing
Approved service compensation is recorded separately and does not automatically remove purchased credits. Failed generation returns reserved credits once to their original source and expiry; expired credits do not become a new monthly allowance. Unavailable or disputed amounts require review. A pending/failed refund is not a completed refund, and we do not promise immediate bank posting. Payment status, credit effects and any separately agreed remedy must be reconciled. We do not silently deduct Stripe fees from an agreed refund amount.
Terms and contact
Historical purchases keep their recorded terms. See service terms, pricing, subscription management and contact. No published response-time or automatic-approval guarantee is implied.
